Dos Pueblos High captured its third consecutive CIF Southern Section Division I championship, edging Newport Harbor, 8-7, Saturday night at Irvine High.

The Sailors led, 7-3, against undefeated and top-seeded Dos Pueblos (31-0), but were shut out in the second half and were unable to win Coach Bill Barnett’s fifth CIF title with the program.
