Newport fire chief sworn in at City Hall ceremony

A standing-room crowd watched as Newport Beach Fire Chief Scott Poster was sworn in at a City Hall ceremony this morning.

“I’m honored to lead the men and women of the Newport Beach Fire Department,” Poster said after he took the oath in the short ceremony.

Firefighters and lifeguards, along with Police Chief Jay Johnson, Mayor Nancy Gardner, Council members Rush Hill and Mike Henn and other city officials attended the ceremony held in Council Chambers. CIty Manager Dave Kiff welcomed everyone.
