Tiger Woods used as a bad example
When it comes to being the poster boy for disloyalty, Tiger Woods is the perfect candidate. At least that’s how John Vallely sees it.
During a high school athletic awards breakfast in Newport Beach Wednesday, Vallely used Woods as a bad example for loyalty during his motivational speech.
Vallely, a former Corona del Mar High and Orange Coast College basketball standout who starred at UCLA, spoke about John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success. One of the concepts of the pyramid is loyalty.
“Tiger Woods was loyal to his game, loyal to his training and loyal to his endorsement sponsors,” Vallely said. “But he was not loyal to his home.”
Thirty high school students, 15 each from CdM and Newport Harbor, were honored at the ceremony, hosted by the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Commodores Club.
