Corona del Mar High sophomore goalkeeper Connor Gaal, a big part of the Sea Kings’ run to the CIF Southern Section Division IV title, the school’s first section crown in boys’ soccer, said chemistry is a key to the Sea Kings’ success.
“Our team has a ton of chemistry,” said Gaal, who is profiled in Saturday’s Daily Pilot as an Athlete of the Week. “We have great bonding dinners and a lot of other stuff.”
The Sea Kings hang together and win together. They take a 26-1-1 record into Saturday’s 1 p.m. CIF Southern California Division II regional final against Santa Barbara (31-0-1) at Warren High in Downey.
