Three H.B. teams advance to SoCal Regionals

The Ocean View High boys’ basketball team, Edison girls’ basketball team and Edison boys’ soccer team all have opening round games in the CIF Southern California Regionals tomorrow.

Only Ocean View is at home. The Seahawks, who were upset by Foothill in the Division III-AA championship game Saturday night at the Honda Center, are the No. 4 seed in Division III. Ocean View, which advanced to the CIF State Division III championship game a year ago, will open at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday against La Jolla. A win and the Seahawks would host either Verdugo Hills or Fresno Hoover in the second round Thursday night.

Edison girls’ basketball travels to No. 4-seeded West Hills of Santee on Tuesday night in the first round of the girls’ Division II regional. An upset win would put the Chargers on the road again Thursday night against either Yosemite or Granada Hills.

Edison boys’ soccer plays at Paramount in its first round game of the Division I SoCal Regional at 4 p.m. Tuesday. A victory and the Chargers would either play at No. 2-seeded San Pasqual, or host Santa Ana Valley, in Thursday’s second round.
