Kids to ‘Walk for Water’

Two Fountain Valley kids are looking to raise some money, but it isn’t for candy, toys or video games. Issak Askenaze, 6, and his sister Autumn, 4,  are raising money to bring clean water to students in India.

The brother and sister are hosting a “Walk for Water” to build a well outside a secondary school in southern India through Thirst Relief.  The two have already raised $1,200, but need $2,200 for both the well and the pump required to use the well.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Newland Park behind Newland Elementary School. Participants can come and donate any amount, or get sponsorships for every lap they walk or run.  Residents can also donate online by going to www.thirstrelief.org  and clicking “India” and then making the donation on behalf of Walk for Water.
