The art of Laguna

A recent show at the Laguna Art Museum.

Laguna Art Museum for the first time is inviting the public to an art opening.

The opening reception for OsCene 2010, with nearly 75 Orange County, Long Beach and San Pedro visual and multi-media artists, will be 7 to 10 p.m.  Saturday, Feb. 20, with DJ Velvet Touch, a cash bar and performances by Barbara Berk, Robert Allen and Antoinette LaFarge.

Tickets are $20 online or $25 at the door.

“OsCene 2010: Contemporary Art and Culture in Orange County” runs through May 16. The exhibit will feature  painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, multi-media installations, video, architecture, performance, music and design.

One artist uses rough-and-tumble roller derby teams to make art.

In another first, OsCene 2010 is teaming up with OC Music Awards, with a listening booth for patrons to sample music from nominated musicians.
