Next storm bearing down, could cause flooding

Rain from a cold, strong storm in the Pacific will begin in Orange County Tuesday and continue into Wednesday morning, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

Thunderstorms and small hail are possible, and the NWS has issued a flash flood watch effective through late Tuesday night.

OC coastal areas could see up to an inch of rain before the system moves out of the region, and mountain slopes could get as much as 2 inches, NWS forecaster Art Horton said. The rain could be intense at times Tuesday afternoon and evening, forecasters said.
