Girls’ basketball: Estancia wins Bell, finishes second in Orange Coast

The Estancia High girls’ basketball team swept the Battle for the Bell series against Costa Mesa for the second straight season.

Junior guard Kassie Stratton scored 35 points as the Eagles defeated the host Mustangs, 55-41, on Tuesday night.

Estancia finishes league play in second place at 6-2, while Costa Mesa is third at 4-4. Both teams qualified for the CIF Southern Section playoffs, the Eagles in Division IV-AA and the Mustangs in Division IV-A. The section will release the postseason pairings on Sunday.
